how I hate the early dating stage. Can't we just skip that part?

I hate not knowing when I am going to see you next. I hate that you might be leaving for a month. I hate not knowing where I stand.

Can't this just be easy? It never used to be like this...

As much as it hurts to do it, it has gotten to the point where it hurts more not to. It will only get worse if I don't. LJ isn't intelligent enough to help me out when it comes to this. Other sites offer more control.

This guy is hysterical:

"A man sitting in a South Carolina prison serving time for wire fraud has decided to file a third-party motion in the MDY v. Blizzard. Jonathan Riches is accusing Blizzard of "...causing [me] to live in a virtual universe, where [I] explored the landscape committing identity theft and fighting cybermonster rival hacker gangs."

http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/11/05/jonathan-lee-riches-has-a-better-imagination-than-you-sues-bliz/

And that is nothing...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Lee_Riches

"Some of Riches' defendants are not even people or potentially suable. These include "Adolf Hitler's National Socialist Party" and the "13 tribes of Israel".[18] One lawsuit, which includes George Bush, also includes another 783 defendants that cover 56 pages. They include Plato, Nostradamus, Che Guevara, James Hoffa, "Various Buddhist Monks", the Lincoln Memorial, the Eiffel Tower, the USS Cole, the book Mein Kampf, the Garden of Eden, the Roman Empire, the Appalachian Trail, and the entire Three Mile Island.[19]"

The EIFFEL TOWER? WTF? The story he had for suing Michael Vick is great too:

Riches alleges that Vick stole two white mixed pit bull dogs from his home in Holiday, Fla., and used them for dogfighting operations in Richmond, Va. The complaint goes on to allege that Vick sold the dogs on eBay and “used the proceeds to purchase missiles from the Iran government.”

The complaint also alleges that Vick would need those missiles because he pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda in February of this year.

“Michael Vick has to stop physically hurting my feelings and dashing my hopes,” Riches writes in the complaint.

Riches wants $63 billion dollars “backed by gold and silver “ delivered to the front gates to the Williamsburg Federal Correctional facility in South Carolina.

10:41am: Summerstage

The National @ Central Park was great fun. [info]sexymf and I didn't even need to drink any overpriced beer to enjoy the show. They had this crazy cool art installation behind them that had pieces that would drop out from view depending on the lighing, and during Fake Empire blacklight made the words Half Awake appear next to a partial credit card number.

I think his lyrics are fantastic.

Excerpt from Mistaken for Strangers:

You get mistaken for strangers by your own friends
when you pass them at night under the silvery, silvery citibank lights
arm in arm in arm and eyes and eyes glazing under
oh you wouldn’t want an angel watching over
surprise, surprise they wouldn’t wannna watch
another uninnocent, elegant fall into the unmagnificent lives of adults

Make up something to believe in your heart of hearts
so you have something to wear on your sleeve of sleeves
so you swear you just saw a feathery woman
carry a blindfolded man through the trees
showered and blue-blazered, fill yourself with quarters
showered and blue-blazered, fill yourself with quarters

Excerpt from Fake Empire:

Turn the light out say goodnight
no thinking for a little while
lets not try to figure out everything at once
It’s hard to keep track of you falling through the sky
we’re half-awake in a fake empire
we’re half-awake in a fake empire

6:25pm: Deep Purple
Problem

I can't find my hair color. I use Special Effects Deep Purple in any Rickies I have been in the city. I just went and looked on a bunch of websites and they all list it as out of stock or manufacturer back order. Maybe they stopped making it? Maybe purple is in right now (as my employee told me)?

Maybe its time to go.

Just sayin. I am in desperate need of a re-dye and it is a huge problem if they don't have the color. Other Special Effects purples don't cut it. Fuck any other hair dye.

Busy weekend ahead! M.I.A./Holy Fuck tomorrow night at McCarren Park Pool, then mysterious birthday celebrations Saturday night.

[info]djcub and I went to The Presets show (which for the benefit of [info]misscerridwen I will not rave about here (it was awesome) and I mentioned Santogold (the band). He mentioned he remembered an infomercial growing up about Santo Gold. They are vastly different things.

Now:

[info]sexymf and I got tickets to see The National in Central Park in August, and I am on the Nettwerk Records list to see Ladytron on June 25th. Anybody here want to be my +1?

You are all fired if you don't get this album. It must have dropped this week, I don't know how I missed it.

The Presets - Apocalypso

Personally I think they are some of the most inventive musicians to be mixing 80's, Electro, Industrial and other electronic styles that I don't typically like anymore. These guys write great melody and lyrics, it just all works for me. His voice might not work for everyone, but I certainly think it is distinctive. At least he's not some douchebag with a distortion box.

9:33pm: hope hope hope
I saw my dream place tonight, and put in an application. It's in a very nice neighborhood right next to Pelham Bay Park, 5 min walk from [info]liquidsexy and his lady and a 10 min walk to the 6 train. It is a little more than I was shooting for but it is a full sized 1 bedroom with brand new renovation.

I won't jinx it by posting the pictures/listing yet but I should know in the next few days. I do have a lead on another place in the area that I am not as excited about but it could work in a pinch.

I need to settle on a place this week, as I am coming to Seattle next week. I probably won't really be out to the clubs, but might plan a night at Barca to see anyone who wants to see me, and we are going to see Apparat at Numos on Friday night.

Everybody keep their fingers crossed for me! I have never had my own place before and this is exactly the quality of place that I want.

11:34pm: Wow
So the apt search has been amusing at least...

Craigslist has returned only 1 response, from a known scammer (the same guy who was trying to hook [info]littletrixie).

Roomiematch has returned some interesting roommate fodder, but I am trying to spend my energy on getting my OWN place.

And there is this, a place an ex-bandmate of [info]unholysun is showing me tomorrow. Did a little research online and turned up a number of interesting results, including this sunny NYT article. At this point I think it will be at least good for a few laughs.

The most promising place so far is a cheap 1 bedroom out in the Bronx around the corner from [info]liquidsexy that I am seeing on Sunday. It is rather far, but not any further commute time wise than I am now. Plus I won't likely have to decide between exterminating bed bugs and hipsters.

On top of this all I have quite the night planned tomorrow evening. Going to see El-P, Dizzee Rascal and Busdriver in Manhattan early on, and then I am out to Studio B in Brooklyn for Ellen Allien and Sascha Funke. Gonna be a pretty interesting day.
